Etymology

Borrowed from Late Latin diaphorēsis, from Ancient Greek δῐᾰφόρησῐς (diaphórēsis, “evaporation, dissipation, perspiration”); equivalent to dia- (“through, across”) + -phoresis (“transmission”).
