1. Any plant that, although not belonging to the grass family, produces seeds that are used to make flour.
   Buckwheat, quinoa and amaranth are pseudocereals.
   Buckwheat is a cosmopolitan pseudocereal with limited production compared to cereals with higher yields. However, it is currently being introduced in many more countries, due to the high nutritional value of the buckwheat seed.
