Etymology

* From Medieval Latin ultimātus (“furthest, last”), past participle of Latin ultimō, ultimāre (“to come to an end”), from ultimus (“last, final”). See ultra-. * (ultimate frisbee): The sport was renamed to avoid the use of the Frisbee trademark.
